Down East Dance is a dance studio in New Bern that has offered classes since 1984. Its programs are designed to promote coordination, flexibility, strength, technique, correct alignment, and creativity in a supportive and enjoyable environment that encourages self-confidence and self-esteem. The studio offers classes for ages 3 through adult, including Preschool and Kinderdance, classical and contemporary ballet and pointe, tap, clogging, jazz, hip hop, acro for dance, and lyrical. Ballet 2 through Advanced students also have the opportunity to participate in the studio’s bi-annual production of The Nutcracker Ballet in downtown New Bern.
