Beth Chayim Chadashim is a Reform Jewish temple in Los Angeles with a longstanding focus on LGBTQIA+ belonging, historically centered on gay and lesbian Jews. Framed as a welcoming and progressive "House of New Life," the congregation brings together Jewish worship, education, intergenerational learning, and community-building. Its educational work includes Ohr Chayim, a religious school for adults and children that grew into a Shabbat morning school and family service held three times each month during the school year. The temple also emphasizes Jewish memory and communal continuity, reflected in milestones such as the reunion of Czech survivor Torah scrolls and the creation of the L’Chayim Legacy Circle.
