Adat Shalom is a long-established Conservative Jewish congregation in West Los Angeles with more than 75 years of communal life. Founded in the mid-1940s as one of the first synagogues serving the Westside, it has grown into a multi-generational, egalitarian community that balances serious engagement with traditional Conservative Judaism and openness to varied levels of observance and connection. The congregation weaves spiritual practice, intellectual engagement, and social belonging into a shared communal life in which members are encouraged to participate actively. Services are co-led by Rabbi Miriam Potok and Cantor Dale Schatz, whose warm, accessible leadership reflects the congregation’s blend of tradition, joy, and seriousness of purpose. Adat Shalom also maintains a proud Zionist heritage and strong support for the State of Israel as part of its broader Jewish identity.
