Hawaii Wado Karate Association is a traditional Japanese karate school in Hilo, Hawaii, focused on Wado-ryu instruction that emphasizes evasive body shifting, balance, timing, speed, and precision. Founded on March 1, 2004 by Walter Dudley, the association has served the community through volunteer black belt instructors dedicated to teaching karate and its core principles. The organization operates under the instructional guidance of Wado Karate Guseikai - USA, founded by Sensei Bob Nash (7th Dan), with Sensei David Sasaki (6th Dan) serving as chief instructor. It has been a recognized member of the Japan Karate Federation Wado-Kai since June 21, 2008, and students who pass Shodan testing are registered and certified by JKF Wado Kai.
