Aikido

Aikido of Hilo is a nonprofit martial arts school in Hilo dedicated to teaching Aikido as a disciplined practice of peaceful reconciliation, harmony, and self-mastery. Its instruction emphasizes both physical technique and ethical purpose, presenting Aikido as a way to protect rather than harm while supporting physical, mental, and spiritual development. Serving the Hilo community since 1980, the dojo has taught more than a thousand students of varying ages and is affiliated with the Aikikai Foundation in Tokyo, Japan.
