Arjia Rinpoche leads a Tibetan Buddhist religious and cultural presence in Bloomington rooted in monastic lineage, scholarship, and the preservation of Tibetan religion and culture. In 1979, he founded the Tibetan Cultural Center in Bloomington, Indiana, dedicated to preserving Tibetan cultural and religious traditions. At Kumbum Chamtse-Ling Temple, this work continues through teaching and daily practice, with Geshe Kunga serving alongside Abbot Arjia Rinpoche since 2010 to sustain Tibetan Buddhist learning in the community.
