Masjid Ash-Shaheed is a mosque in Charlotte, North Carolina. Established through a collective effort of local Muslim families in 1989, it later became Ash-Shaheed Islamic Center, and in 2007 a new masjid was constructed on eight acres of land. The mosque has been led by resident imams including Imam Khalil A. Akbar, who served for many years, and Imam Ibn Tamir A. Mutakabbir, who was elected as resident imam. Masjid Ash-Shaheed emphasizes worship, community unity, charitable giving, and service, and has participated in interfaith and community dialogue initiatives.
