Beth El Synagogue is a Conservative Jewish congregation in Omaha affiliated with the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism. The congregation combines rooted Jewish tradition with an inclusive communal culture, including equal participation for women in all aspects of synagogue life and a welcoming approach toward interfaith families as well as individuals and couples of all races, heritages, ethnicities, and sexual orientations. Its history reflects both resilience and adaptation, including periods of financial strain, the construction of a new synagogue building begun in 1939 and dedicated in 1941, and long-serving religious leadership that connected worship, education, adult learning, and multigenerational programming.
