Hanapepe United Church of Christ is a welcoming Christian congregation in Hanapepe, Hawaii, founded in 1890. The church describes itself as open to people of all backgrounds, including believers and seekers, and was the first United Church of Christ congregation on Kauai to officially become Open and Affirming, specifically welcoming LGBTQ members. Its social hall, built in 1960, serves as a gathering place for the wider community and hosts activities including Tutu & Me preschool, a Kokua thrift shop, and a Sea Scouts troop. The church also led Kauai’s first Pride Festival parade in 2019.
