Agudath Achim Congregation is a synagogue in Altoona, Pennsylvania, with a documented local history dating to March 17, 1885, when the original group received a charter from the Blair County court. Before establishing a permanent home, the congregation held services in members’ homes, later completing its first shul in 1895 on 10th Avenue between 15th and 16th Streets. The congregation’s history reflects continuity, fellowship, and member support. Today, it continues to serve its community with assistance available by appointment through synagogue office secretary Lori Lesniak and custodian Albert Mealing.
