Laughing Teabowl Zendo is a Zen Buddhist practice community in Rapid City, South Dakota. Founded in 1998 as the Laughing Teabowl Sangha, it began as a weekly gathering for students, staff, and local community members interested in Zen Buddhism, with regular zazen practice and recorded Dharma talks. The group later developed annual sesshin retreats in the Black Hills and, in 2021, formally invited Roshi James Kando Green to serve as teacher and spiritual director. The sangha describes itself as a consensual circle supporting Zen meditation, community service, and the cultivation of peace, compassion, and harmony.
