First Christian Church is a Christian congregation in Ruidoso, New Mexico, with roots dating to 1954, when its first worship service was held after a small group began meeting for prayer and study. The church describes its mission as being, seeking, and making disciples of Jesus by inviting all people into God’s love and caring for all people through that love. Its history includes pastoral leadership from James Smith, Ken Cole, and Bill Kennedy, the presentation of the Living Lord’s Supper reenactment for the community, the dedication of a Memorial Prayer Garden for meditation, prayer, and final resting place, and a 2008 building expansion that added a commercial kitchen, choir room, classrooms, and a multi-purpose room for ministry in Ruidoso.
