Beth Sholom Congregation is a longstanding synagogue in Frederick, Maryland, with roots in the city’s early organized Jewish community and a history defined by continuity, growth, and communal participation. Active since the nineteenth century, the congregation expanded alongside its membership and established a Community Center at 1011 North Market Street in 1984 to support worship and community life. Continued growth led to a new and enlarged Community Center following a 1993 groundbreaking. In 2017, Beth Sholom marked its 100th year with an anniversary gala and mortgage-burning ceremony, reflecting generations of commitment, stewardship, and belonging within Frederick’s religious and civic life.
