First Congregational Church in Eugene, known today as First Congregational United Church of Christ, is a progressive Christian church that describes itself as open and affirming and committed to an inclusive community and mission shaped by Jesus’ vision. Founded in 1889, the congregation has a long history in Eugene, including its early church building at 7th and Charnelton and a 135th anniversary celebrated in 2024. Historical notes also reflect longstanding pastoral and music leadership within the church community.
