With more than three decades in psychology, Dr. Bonnie M. Brown brings a rare depth of experience to her work in mental health assessment and consultation. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from Loma Linda University in 1992, where she received the Richard M. Nies award for excellence in psychology, before completing her Doctorate of Psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology in San Diego. There, she specialized in clinical psychology with an emphasis in forensic evaluations—a focus that would shape much of her career.
From 1995 to 2001, Dr. Brown held staff and director positions in both state and federal maximum security correctional facilities. She then transitioned away from corrections in 2001, dedicating herself to providing comprehensive mental health care to the Las Vegas community. In the years since, she has built a thriving private practice and served as Clinical Director for a private psychiatric facility.
Today, her practice centers almost exclusively on assessment and consultation. For the past 23 years, she has conducted consultative examinations for disability-related claims, and she offers expert opinions across a wide range of criminal and civil matters—including Veteran's benefits, sex offender and risk assessments, competency restoration, fitness-for-duty and pre-operative clearances, and pre-employment evaluations for various agencies. She also provides thorough assessments for behavioral concerns, intellectual disabilities, and ADHD.
Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Brown is deeply committed to shaping the next generation of mental health providers, supervising and training new clinicians through affiliations with several local universities. A frequent speaker for community organizations on timely and trending topics, she has also lent her expertise to numerous community and non-profit advisory boards.
