Bay Area Pal Tsechen Ling is a small nonprofit dhma community in Richmond, California, devoted to preserving and sustaining the Sakya school of Tibetan Buddhism in Northern California. Serving Bay Area Tibetan community members and Tibetan Buddhist followers, it supports spiritual and cultural life through Sakya lineage teachings, communal observances, and efforts to make the tradition more accessible in the region. The center’s religious life is led by resident Khenpo Sonam Dhondup, who guides major events and activities and teaches Tibetan language and basic Tibetan Buddhism to children on weekends.
