AikidoCedarRapids is presented through Jack’s creative practice, centered on paintings and artwork shaped by presence, play, and human connection. His work emphasizes immediacy over polish, with a focus on joyful, attentive exchange between artist, subject, and viewer. Jack founded the Art Crawl in St. Cloud, Minnesota, in 2005; the effort later received the Outstanding Downtown Promotions Award in 2008. His work has also been supported by a Bremer/Thrivent Artist in Residence grant from the Epiphany Fine Arts Program in St. Cloud. Across the practice, the focus remains on exploratory, participatory art that treats creativity as open, shared, and grounded in the lived experience of being human.
