Academy of Dance Arts - Downtown is a Rapid City dance school focused on rigorous instruction delivered with warmth, patience, and respect for each student’s stage of growth. Its program combines technical training with emotional development, emphasizing strong fundamentals, confidence, discipline, and artistry through age-appropriate progression aligned in early training with National Dance Education Core Standards. Serving more than 250 registered dancers from across the Black Hills, Northern Hills, Western Wyoming, and Central South Dakota, the school connects studio education to public performance and community life, including opportunities for upper-division students to perform in downtown Rapid City and for academy dancers to appear in Black Hills Dance Theatre’s biennial Nutcracker productions.
