Buddhist Church of Stockton is a Buddhist temple in Stockton, California, serving the local sangha and surrounding communities including Tracy, Linden, French Camp, Brentwood, and the Delta Islands. Incorporated as a religious group in California in 1925, the temple is a member of the Buddhist Churches of America and is rooted in the Jodo Shin sect, or Pure Land School, of Buddhism. The temple has also played a historical role in the community, including providing hostel space for returnees from internment camps in the early postwar years.
