Dr. Amanda Thalji-Raitano is a licensed psychologist with over a decade of experience supporting children, teens, and adults. Helping individuals and families is her true passion, and her mission is to help people navigate life's challenges with science-backed strategies, compassion, and hope. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Florida and her Doctorate in School Psychology, with a specialization in Mental Health, from the University of South Florida. Over the years, she has worked in private practice, schools, and a federal residential training program, and has helped shape future psychologists as an assistant professor of instruction and clinical supervisor at the University of South Florida.
Dr. Raitano considers it a privilege to walk alongside clients during life's most demanding times. In therapy, she serves as a partner, mentor, and advocate—helping clients untangle difficult thoughts, shift unhelpful behaviors, and find greater satisfaction in life. Her approach is grounded in proven, research-based methods yet flexible enough to be tailored to each individual. She draws primarily on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) strategies, and as an EMDRIA-approved EMDR therapist, she specializes in helping clients process trauma and reclaim their sense of peace. She also incorporates motivational interviewing, mindfulness, brief solution-focused strategies, and positive psychology, monitoring each client's progress regularly to guide treatment.
Within her integrative, non-judgmental approach, Dr. Raitano takes time to truly listen, offering education about symptoms, explaining which strategies may help and why, and practicing those skills together so clients can carry them into everyday life. Her experience spans anxiety and excessive worry, depression and bipolar disorder, PTSD and trauma, OCD, grief, interpersonal and social challenges, oppositional behaviors, life transitions, anger and irritability, and self-harm concerns. Her skill set is especially specialized for working with children, teens, and young adults.
In addition to therapy, Dr. Raitano provides comprehensive psychological evaluations for children, teens, and adults. As a former school-based psychologist, she brings valuable familiarity with Exceptional Student Education services, IEPs, 504 Plans, and accommodations—including the updated evaluations often required for high-stakes testing such as the SAT, ACT, GRE, LSAT, and MCAT. Her evaluation services include gifted testing, academic assessments for reading, writing, and math difficulties, ADHD and executive functioning, cognitive impairments, autism spectrum disorder, and emotional and behavioral concerns, as well as homeschool and college board accommodation evaluations. For adults, a thorough evaluation can help clarify diagnostic questions—such as distinguishing anxiety from ADHD or trauma—and point clients toward the most effective treatment.
Dr. Raitano is dedicated to making mental health approachable and empowering, offering an authentic, validating space paired with treatments proven to work. She believes that with the right support and intention, small steps can lead to meaningful改善 in how we feel and respond to the world. Because strong relationships matter deeply to her, she personally responds to every client inquiry. Appointments are available in person in Colorado and via telehealth throughout Colorado and Florida. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed yourself or you're a caregiver worried about a child or teen, she would be honored to help you take the first steps toward the satisfying life you deserve.
