Central Pennsylvania Dance Workshop is a dance studio in State College, Pennsylvania, founded in 1969 by LaRue Allen. The studio provides dance training across a broad range of classes and is organized around a semester system, with 14-week fall and spring semesters, a 5-week intersession in May and early June, and a 6-week summer session. Its programs emphasize well-rounded dance education through classes, performance opportunities in a variety of venues, and skill development in dance instruction and choreography. The summer session also includes a performance class that develops new work for presentation at the Central PA Festival of the Arts. CPDW describes its approach as centered on community building, artistic expression, and working in concert rather than competition.
