Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and international humanitarian organization with Buddhist roots. Founded in 1966 in Hualien, Taiwan, its mission is to relieve the suffering of those in need and help create a better world for all. In addition to charity, the foundation is active in medicine, education, environmental protection, international relief, and the establishment of one of the world’s largest bone marrow donor registries. It also shares Buddhist philosophy and its application to everyday life.
