Al-Hidaya Mosque of Troy is a nonprofit Islamic center serving the Capital District, rooted in prayer gatherings begun by students from the RPI Muslim Student Association in the 1970s and 1980s. It functions as a central place for worship and community life, with daily prayers and Jumu’ah at its core and capacity for more than 1,200 worshippers during Friday prayer. The mosque also has a strong educational mission, offering adult and youth programs as well as a full-time academic school beginning with Pre-K 3 and up. Its growth reflects a sustained commitment to worship, education, and community service for a growing Muslim population in the region.
