Congregation Beth Jacob is a historic synagogue in Galveston, Texas, located in the city’s Silk Stocking District and listed on the National Registry of Historical Places. The congregation has preserved and continued its religious life through major challenges, including damage from Hurricane Ike in 2008 and the Covid-19 epidemic in 2020, when it adapted by holding outdoor services and broadcasting services to automobiles outside the synagogue. Many descendants of the original founders remain active members.
