Florence Family YMCA is a community-focused YMCA in Florence, South Carolina, with roots dating to 1912 and formal incorporation in 1923 as a railroad YMCA. Originally serving men and boys in the Florence area and railroad travelers, the organization broadened its mission in the 1960s to serve the whole family. A local Board of Directors incorporated the Family YMCA of Greater Florence in 1969, and the Florence Family YMCA expanded again in 2001 to serve a growing community. Its stated mission is to make support and opportunities accessible so people and communities can learn, grow, and thrive.
