Champaign Ballet Academy is a ballet school in Champaign, Illinois, founded in 1998 and directed by Deanna Doty Warfel. Its training is based on the Russian Vaganova Syllabus, with influences from Cecchetti and Bournonville techniques, and is tailored to each student’s body. The academy emphasizes clean technique and academic lines, encourages older dancers to explore additional dance forms, and offers performing opportunities through the affiliated Champaign Urbana Ballet. Its students have been accepted to summer ballet programs across the United States, and alumni have gone on to dance with companies including American Ballet Theatre, National Ballet of Canada, Atlanta Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet, Ballet Memphis, Louisville Ballet, Texas Ballet Theater, and Tulsa Ballet.
