Al-Aqsa Islamic Society is a mosque and community center in Philadelphia founded in 1989. Serving the city’s Palestinian community and other Arab Muslims in the region, it supports worship, education, culture, and communal life. The society includes a grocery, an elementary school, and a high school, with Islamic studies and Arabic language instruction as part of its commitment to faith, language, and heritage. It has also built a strong neighborhood presence through collaborative arts and outreach initiatives, including partnerships with local artists, schools, churches, and community groups, as well as its annual Walk for Peace.
