A W New Hapkido Academy is a Fort Wayne martial arts school that has taught Hapkido since 1998 with an emphasis on practical, real-world self-defense. Led by Master Mike McConnell, a 6th degree Hapkido black belt, and chief instructor Grand Master Anthony New, an 8th degree Hapkido black belt, the academy presents a disciplined approach rooted in the traditions and long-term values of Hapkido. Training is organized by age group, with separate programs for preschool children ages 4 to 6, children ages 7 to 11, and teens and adults ages 12 and up. Across its programs, the academy combines structured instruction in self-defense with lessons in focus, responsibility, self-esteem, judgment, and personal growth.
