Hidden Valley Zen Center (HVZC), Yuukoku-ji, is a Buddhist lay and monastic practice community in the hills of North County, San Diego. Founded in 1968 as The Order of the Ancient Wisdom, it is now known as Hidden Valley Zen Center and continues a Rinzai Zen practice tradition associated with Mitra-Roshi and, since 2013, Sozui-Roshi. The center describes itself as a culturally diverse community that welcomes sincere Zen practitioners of any ethnic background in a quiet rural setting under historic California oaks.
