Chapel Hill Zen Center

Chapel Hill Zen Center is a Soto Zen meditation group in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, in the lineage of Shunryu Suzuki-roshi and affiliated with the San Francisco Zen Center. Founded in 1981, the center offers zazen practice, meditation retreats, ceremonies, and community notifications. It describes an inclusive approach that welcomes everyone to the practice of zazen and traces its origins to a small group of friends meditating in homes across the Durham–Chapel Hill area before adopting its current legal name in 1997.
