Azad Masjid is a nonprofit mosque in Wichita Falls, founded in 1996 to meet the community’s need for a shared place of prayer, connection, and religious continuity. Established through the efforts of Abdullah Shamsid-Deen, his wife, and local Muslims, it developed over years of organizational preparation and construction into a lasting institution. The masjid serves as a center for congregational worship as well as religious, charitable, cultural, social, and educational life, supporting Islamic education, mutual aid, community events, and faith-based support programs through shared volunteer involvement. Grounded in prayer, learning, unity, and care for others, Azad Masjid continues to bring families and neighbors together in support of the Muslim community in Wichita Falls.
