Dr. Paul A. Buongiorno, MD is a psychiatrist in full-time private practice with more than 30 years of clinical experience in the management of psychiatric disorders. His background includes former academic appointments as a Consulting Associate in Psychiatry at Duke University School of Medicine and a Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Georgetown University School of Medicine. He also helped run a large multidisciplinary psychiatric group practice in Northern Virginia and is involved in teaching psychology students and family practice residents. His research interests include untreated mood disorders and subsequent neurocognitive deficits.
