Anthony M. Aurigemma, MD, brings together the perspective of a licensed physician and the long discipline of classical homeopathy. After practicing conventional family medicine beginning in 1975, he turned toward homeopathic study in the early 1980s, moved by witnessing a close friend’s chronic condition improve with unusual speed after years of unsuccessful medical and surgical treatment.
That experience became the catalyst for a deeper commitment to homeopathic medicine, which has been his full-time focus since 1985. His work is rooted in classical homeopathy and a holistic view of care. Over the course of decades in practice, he has treated many thousands of patients with homeopathic remedies, approaching illness with attention to the individual rather than isolating symptoms alone.
That broader philosophy also allows room for collaboration when needed; referral to conventional or alternative specialists is part of the clinical judgment he brings to patient care. Aurigemma’s background in homeopathy was built through study with physicians affiliated with the National Center for Homeopathy in Washington, D.C., followed by further training with physicians in New York City, Argentina, and Greece. The combination of conventional medical experience and sustained homeopathic study gives his practice an unusually long view of both traditions, shaped by years of direct clinical work.
He is deeply engaged in the professional homeopathic community. Aurigemma serves as Vice President of the Homeopathic Medical Society of the State of New York and is affiliated with the American Institute of Homeopathy, the Homeopathic Medical Society of the State of New York, the Liga Internazionalis Medicorum, and the National Center for Homeopathy. In addition to English, he speaks fluent Italian and some Spanish.
