Ancient Oaks Zen Community

Ancient Oaks Zen Community is a Mahayana Buddhist sangha in Savannah, Georgia, rooted in Zen practice as a path of healing, liberation, and awakening undertaken for the benefit of all creation. Part of the International Zen Garland Order founded by Roshi Paul Genki Kahn and Roshi Monika Genmitsu Kahn, the community offers a structured path of practice that includes introductory Zen practice, classes, retreats, teaching, lineage study, and service. Its teaching culture supports deeper formation through initiation into Zen Buddhism and the Zen Garland Order, with a Teacher Training Track that can lead to ordination as Zen priests.
