First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Jacksonville is a Christian Church congregation with roots dating to 1883, when members first began meeting in homes. After losing two early buildings to fires in 1901 and 1925, the church relocated to downtown Jacksonville in 1926 and later held its first worship service at its Mandarin location in December 1982. The congregation describes itself as welcoming to everyone and focuses on care for its people, attention to youth and young families, outreach through its preschool and community groups, and worship that energizes faith.
