Bethany Christian Church is a longstanding Christian congregation in New Bern, North Carolina, with roots dating to 1875 in the Stony Branch community of Craven County. The church established its own site in 1890 and has grown through multiple generations, including expansions in 1939 and again after severe storm damage to its sanctuary in 2001. In 2008, the congregation voted to leave the Disciples of Christ denomination and become a non-denominational church. It describes its doctrine as biblically based and centers its mission on being witnesses "to the ends of the earth through the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit," expressed through faith, fellowship, service, and shared community life.
