Dr. Lorena Cancino Gacharna is a psychiatrist with Onvida Health Behavioral Health, part of the Onvida Health Medical Group. Fluent in both English and Spanish, she brings specialized expertise in senior psychiatric care, including dementia and Alzheimer's disease, bereavement, and geriatric depression—offering compassionate, culturally responsive support to the patients and families she serves.
Dr. Cancino Gacharna received her medical degree from the Universidad de la Sabana in Chía, Colombia, and completed her residency in psychiatry at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center in the Bronx, New York. She went on to complete a fellowship in geriatric psychiatry at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, New York, further deepening her focus on the unique mental health needs of older adults.
