Chabad Lubavitch of Iowa is a Jewish community organization and synagogue in Des Moines offering Shabbat and holiday services, Shabbat hospitality, Passover seders, public menorah lightings, Chanukah events, and other Jewish holiday celebrations. Its programs include an early childhood center, Bar and Bat Mitzvah instruction, Sunday school, adult education, Lunch & Learn classes, and campus outreach. The organization also operates Maccabee’s Kosher Deli and Judaica Store, provides Iowa Chai K kosher inspection and koshering services for homes and hotels, established the Judaic Resource Center of Iowa, publishes The Jewish Spark magazine and a statewide community art calendar, and supports community services such as humanitarian aid and an annual blood drive.
