Academy of Makeup & Arts

Academy of Makeup & Arts is a Nashville-based vocational training school focused on preparing artists for work across makeup, hair, costume, and performance. Its hands-on programs emphasize practical, production-oriented skills in beauty makeup, character transformation, special effects and prosthetics, wig and hair work, and costume design. Students learn from working artists and train for the pace and standards of professional environments in film, television, theater, live events, editorial, commercial, and related creative settings. The academy is authorized by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission, a Division of Postsecondary Education.
