Dr. Jacqueline Panish is a clinical psychologist who has provided psychotherapy to adults in Las Vegas since 2003. Before relocating, she offered counseling to firefighters and other 9/11 first responders through the Counseling Service Unit of the New York City Fire Department—a testament to the depth of compassion she brings to her work.
Her academic and clinical training is extensive. She earned her B.A. in Psychology from Baruch College at the City University of New York, followed by her M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Adelphi University's internationally recognized Gordon F. Derner Institute. She completed her clinical internship in the Department of Psychiatry at Bellevue Hospital Center—affiliated with the NYU School of Medicine—and at Gouverneur Hospital, both accredited by the American Psychological Association. Dr. Panish went on to earn a certificate in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from the Los Angeles Institute & Society for Psychoanalytic Studies and is credentialed by the National Register of Health Service Psychologists, a distinction reserved for practitioners who exceed standard licensure requirements. A former Adjunct Professor of Psychology at Baruch College, she has also published in several respected academic journals and received the Psychology Applied Research Award from the NCSPP.
Having worked across correctional facilities, acute inpatient psychiatric care, and outpatient settings, Dr. Panish brings a broad and versatile clinical background to her practice. She has helped children, adolescents, adults, and older adults from a wide range of cultural, social, economic, and religious backgrounds, and of diverse sexual orientations.
Central to Dr. Panish's approach is the belief that no two people are alike. Many of her clients arrive having tried therapy before—sometimes more than once—only to find that the root causes of their distress were never truly addressed. Rather than treating symptoms in isolation, she considers the whole person: their personality, relational patterns, and life experiences. Drawing on both solution-focused methods like cognitive behavioral therapy and deeper insight-oriented work, she tailors each course of treatment to the individual's needs and goals, aiming to relieve immediate suffering while uncovering the deeper patterns beneath it.
Today, Dr. Panish works with college students, adults, and couples on a wide range of concerns, and also provides clinical consultation for fellow mental health professionals. Her areas of specialization include anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, grief and loss, eating disorders and body image, relationship and marriage difficulties, self-esteem and identity, LGBTQ+ concerns, life transitions, infertility, creative blocks, and work and career stress—always with the goal of treating each client as a whole person, never as a list of problems.
