Church Under the Bridge is a Christian church in Waco, Texas, founded in 1992 after a Christian couple from Waco and a Baylor student began meeting with homeless men staying under the Interstate 35 bridge for Sunday morning Bible study. The congregation grew to include homeless individuals, lower-income residents, and other local community members, with an emphasis on worship across racial, cultural, and economic differences. Worship services begin at 10:30 a.m. each Sunday under the Interstate 35 and South 4th Street bridge. In 1998, the church established its vision statement, core values, and basic leadership structure, and in 1999 the covenant community selected three members to help guide the church’s vision, direction, and core principles.
