Augusta Christian Church is a Disciples of Christ congregation in Indianapolis rooted in an open welcome to the Lord’s Table and a vision of wholeness in a fragmented world. The church emphasizes hospitality, shared Christian discipleship, prayer, and participatory ministry, inviting members to join actively in the life of the congregation. After facing possible closure in 2002, Augusta experienced significant renewal under the leadership of Senior Pastor Jacquelyn E. Powell and has grown into a vibrant community of believers. The church also expresses its faith through communal worship, prayer during significant seasons such as Holy Week, and an explicit commitment to becoming an anti-racist church.
