The American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics is a professional organization dedicated to advancing osteopathic orthopedic surgery through training, professional development, and recognition of excellence in the field. Rooted in osteopathic medicine’s whole-person approach, it supports the integration of osteopathic principles, including Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment, into orthopedic practice. Its members help train approximately 500 osteopathic orthopedic surgeons each year across 40 residencies, serving as program directors and faculty while promoting continued application of osteopathic principles in clinical care.
