Congregation B'nai Jeshurun, also known as the South Street Temple, is a diverse Reform Jewish congregation in Lincoln, Nebraska. The congregation describes itself as welcoming and inclusive, with members including religious Jews, cultural Jews, Jews by choice, and many interfaith couples. Founded before the end of the 19th century, it established Lincoln's first temple and later dedicated its current building at 20th and South Streets in 1924 after a 1922 fire damaged the previous temple. The historic building, designed with Roman, Byzantine, and Moorish elements, remains largely in its original state and reflects a long tradition of Jewish community, study, and worship.
