B'nai Israel Reform Temple is a Reform Jewish congregation in Oakdale, New York, established to serve Jewish families in the East Islip area through worship, education, and shared observance. Founded in 1964 through a community effort, the congregation has long centered its religious life on Shabbat services and holiday observances. After first meeting in East Islip, where its space served as both a house of worship and religious school, the temple dedicated its Oakdale building in 1970 and later developed its present temple complex following land donated in 1979, with groundbreaking in 1983 and dedication in 1984. Its history reflects sustained communal commitment and an enduring focus on Jewish religious life and education.
